WakeUp Items is a control panel that gives you the ability to automatically open applications or files whenever your Macintosh wakes up from sleep mode.
Just as you put items and aliases into the StartUp Items folder when you want them launched at startup, you place files and aliases in the WakeUp Items folder to launch them when your Mac wakes up.
• Requirements
WakeUp Items requires the following:
1) System 7 or higher.
2) A Macintosh that is capable of sleep mode.
At this writing, this includes all PowerBooks and PCI-based PowerMacs, and
any Macintosh equipped with version 2.0.4 or higher of St. Clair Software’s
Sleeper control panel.
WakeUp Items will display a red ‘X’ over its startup icon if there is a problem during startup, if your Macintosh does not support the necessary sleep features, or if you are not using System 7 or higher.
• Installation
1) Drop the WakeUp Items control panel on your System folder icon. When asked
if you want to put it in the Control Panels folder, answer “OK”.
2) Restart your Macintosh.
3) Choose the applications or files that you want to have automatically opened
upon wake up. Put them, or aliases to them, into the WakeUp Items folder
inside your System Folder.
You can turn WakeUp Items on and off via the WakeUp Items control panel. Please remember to pay the shareware fee if you use WakeUp Items!
• Shareware Registration
WakeUp Items is distributed as shareware. You may try it for 30 days, after which we ask that you either delete your copy or register it by sending $10 (US) via the Kagi Shareware registration service. Upon registration, you will receive free technical support, free upgrades, and a code to disable the reminder message that begins popping up after 30 days.
Cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, First Virtual and Money Orders can be used for payment. Just click the “Register” button below or run the “Register SCS” program that came with WakeUp Items. Fill in the online registration form and fax, email, or mail it to one of the addresses below. For credit card and First Virtual orders, your number will be encoded so it can be safely transmitted via fax or email.

Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. Payments sent via mail and fax take up to 10 days (plus transit time for mail). If you provide a correct internet email address you will receive an email acknowledgement. Otherwise, a registration letter will be sent to you via the postal service.
There are reduced prices for purchasing multiple copies of WakeUp Items. These prices are automatically computed by the online registration form when you fill in the number of copies. For large purchases, the site license option will allow you to use WakeUp Items at all your organization’s offices within a 100 mile (160 kilometer) radius of each other, while the worldwide license option allows you to use an unlimited number of copies.
